Before having your gown cleaned, we ask you to carefully consider how you would like to preserve it.
Is it a keepsake that you would like stored for future generations or would you prefer it stored so that you can easily show it more closely to friends and family after the wedding day?
Under your instruction, after your gown has been meticulously cleaned, our preservation specialist will store in one of the following ways:
- Hanging Service
- Our expert staff will either hang and return the wedding dress to a Wedding Gown Bag that you supply us with, or we will place on hanger and bag in plastic, so that the dress is completely covered.
- Preservation Box
- Our expert staff will carefully fold and wrap the dress with acid free tissue paper, then place it in an acid free storage box. These white boxes are specifically made for Bridal Gown Preservation. The dress will then be ready for you to store without risk of damage to the dress and to show future family generations.
Storage tips
Remove extra padding, metal hooks and buttons which can rust and discolour over time. These notions can be stored in separate packaging along with your gown.
Store your gown folded and packaged flat in a restorative quality box. All the fabric stress typically caused by the gown’s weight on a hanger is eliminated when stored this way.
Freshly cleaned and wrapped in protective covers, your gown should be stored in a safe, temperature controlled room.
Under the bed in your guest room is one great place to store your cleaned and preserved gown. Extreme temperatures of attics and basements can cause great harm to your gown.
